New Resident Evil Portal Launching Early Next Year
With 2020 nearly over and a new year just around the corner, Capcom shared exciting news for Resident Evil fans. In early 2021, the company will launch a new and revamped Resident Evil portal site. They’re creating a central hub for content that spans various series in the R.E. universe to make it easier for fans to peruse.
“Resident Evil Portal will be the go-to source for the latest info on the Resident Evil series,” the website reads. “It’s a place for players to share their stats with others around the world, an overflowing item box of content for series veterans and rookies. Make sure you’re locked and loaded, and stocked up on green herbs because a new Resident Evil experience awaits on the Resident Evil portal site.”
Capcom will be consolidating the content available for the Biohazard series, Biohazard Club 96, Resident Evil Ambassador Program, and a number of other websites. Once it launches, community members can stay up to date on the latest information, promotions, and merchandise. Resident Evil fans can connect with likeminded fans via social media accounts all around the world.
There are a few stipulations, however. In order to be part of the ambassador program, a Capcom ID is needed to sign up for the portal. On top of that, users will required a Twitter account and will no longer be able to link to a Facebook, Instagram, or LINE account. “If you belonged to the Resident Evil Ambassador Program before and did not link a Twitter account, you will now need to link a Twitter account,” Capcom explained.
