Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Graphics Settings Revealed Via Companion App
Another day brings yet another small hint that a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is in fact on its way. Just last week, some code was discovered on Rockstar Games’ Social Club website for the game referencing ‘accomplishments’ for the as yet unannounced PC version of the title. Now, yet another set of some intriguing coding has been discovered, this time on the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app.
One of the folks over on GTAforums posted saying that someone they know sent them files that they obtained from the companion app for Red Dead Redemption 2. These files reference graphical settings that, upon examination, could really only be referring to a PC version of the game. There is, for example, a reference to DirectX Feature Set 12_1, as well as a suggestion that it will support the newest API. Additionally, and perhaps most indicative is the evidence that the game will have Ultra settings, which happens to be something Grand Theft Auto V didn’t end up getting.
This should of course all be taken with a grain of salt, though there is every chance that Rockstar Games is in fact working on a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Quite frankly they’d be crazy to not plan a PC release for the game given how well it has done since it has released. Here’s hoping it won’t be too much longer of a wait before we get an official confirmation.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
