Red Dead Redemption 2 Leak Shows Off Potential Battle Royale, First Person Mode, Open-World, and More

Red Dead Redemption 2 leak

Now that we have an official release date for Rockstar Games’ next Red Dead installment, fans are left to wonder when new details will begin to arrive. Sure, more than eight months stand in between now and launch, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want the goods. However, a recent Red Dead Redemption 2 leak potentially provides plenty for players to get excited about.

According to the leak, the upcoming title is going to contain quite a bit more than previous entries. First off, it looks like the world will be open, which will certainly let players roam free as they please. In the document obtained by Trusted Reviews, only two of the unknown number of locations are disclosed: Armadillo and Ridgewood. It also looks like gamers will have a different kind of freedom in-game, with choices playing a part in how certain things play out. With this being a prequel, some situations will obviously have to stick to the script, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun along the way.

NPCs will be aplenty, according to the Red Dead Redemption 2 leak. After all, this is Rockstar Games we’re talking about. The document states that players will be able to do business and interact with the characters, with the likes of gunsmiths and general stores being mentioned. Discounted prices can also be had at a secret market, but that’s obviously a secret.

A first person mode is also mentioned by the document. This, like many other aspects of the leak, are drawing rather clear lines of inspiration to Rockstar’s immensely popular Grand Theft Auto V. When that game made its way to PC and the current generation of consoles, it brought along with it the alternate camera angle. Fans quite enjoyed it, so it looks as if the developer will want to continue that trend with their forthcoming prequel.

One game mode that is absolutely dominating these days is battle royale, and if the Red Dead Redemption 2 leak is to be believed, Rockstar will be cashing in on that as well. It’s unknown if it will play out the same way it does in PUBG or Fortnite, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Just think of either of those games, but with horses and six-shooters. Sounds pretty awesome, right?

More details about random events, vehicles, the train that will help players travel faster, and the updated Dead Eye mechanic are all in the document. Apparently, the new Dead Eye will also help with keeping track of quests and finding animals, plants, and more. This, of course, is on top of making protagonist Arthur Morgan even more deadly. Needless to say, fun times are ahead.

It’s important to note that while all of this information seems reasonable enough to be true, it is still a leak and should be taken with the appropriate amount of salt. Only time will tell how accurate any of these details are. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to arrive on October 26 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
