Marvel's Avengers Director Promises They "Didn't Forget About Hawkeye"

Over the past several years, Marvel has done a great job at instilling fans with the knowledge that, when they talk about the Avengers, they are at the very least referring to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. Fans in attendance at E3 2019 expected to see all the listed heroes when Square Enix took to the stage to reveal its long awaited Marvel’s Avengers game, though Hawkeye was mysteriously absent from the footage. Thankfully, it appears that developer Crystal Dynamics does in fact have plans for the Golden Archer, and fans can expect to see him make an appearance within the game.

The news comes by way of creative director Noah Hughes, who recently sat down with CBR to speak about Marvel’s Avengers. “I assure you, we didn’t forget about Hawkeye,” Hughes said rather pointedly. “We have plenty of roster and hero reveals down the road.” Not only is this great news for Hawkeye fans, but this also implies that we may be seeing Clint Baron at some point prior to the actual launch of Marvel’s Avengers next year.

The latest info from Noah Hughes also implies that the game will feature at least a partially larger roster than we initially expected. Given that the Avengers is comprised of many, many other members, it’ll be interesting to see what else Crystal Dynamics is bringing to the table.

Marvel’s Avengers launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 15, 2020.

So, thoughts on the upcoming Hawkeye reveal? What other member of the Avengers are you hoping will make their way into the game?
