Razer Zephyr RGB Facemasks Are Coming To Beta Testing

Razer Zephyr

Razer has come up with a lot of strange or peculiar products over the years, from mug holders to watches and more. The company may be a gaming brand focused on peripherals and hardware, but they occasionally provide fans with strange pieces to aid in daily life. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Razer come out with a toaster at some point, but the company has also made mention of creating facemasks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the company is readying one of its more bizarre products, a premium facemask called the Razer Zephyr, complete with RGB lighting, of course.

A recent post from Razer reveals the company has officially landed on a name for their RGB facemask, calling it the Zephyr, a rename from its original unveiling as Project Hazel. The post calls on fans to beta test a prototype of the mask in all its RGB glory. In the time since being announced, the mask features a few design changes, including oversized straps instead of ear loops, a new vent near the chin area, and more. The Razer Zephyr makes use of an N95 respirator with active respiration and a microphone, allowing users to be more easily understood while wearing the mask. The device also comes with a low light mode allowing users to express themselves in varied lighting conditions.

Project Hazel is now officially Razer Zephyr – the latest evolution of our wearable air purifier. Designed to be safe, social and sustainable, Razer Zephyr sports 99% BFE, a secure silicon face seal and anti-fog coating. It’s a bit strange to see a facemask get a beta testing period, but it’s certainly an interesting product, there’s no doubt about that. Currently, there’s no word on how these betas intend to roll out and the Zephyr doesn’t have a release date quite yet, let alone a price. Perhaps once the test completes, fans might know more about when to expect the bizarre Razer product. Will you be looking to try out the Razer Zephyr?
