Sonic the Hedgehog Wireless Controller And Stand Announced By Razer

The gaming industry has many popular characters, with one of the most enduring having been Sonic the Hedgehog. The blue blur has had quite a year to celebrate, with 2021 having been his 30th anniversary, and now having the highest-grossing opening box office weekend for a video game movie with Sonic the Hedgehog 2. That box office victory proves Sonic’s success as a merchandising juggernaut, being seen on shirts, toys and breakfast cereal. Sonic’s games have always been notorious for being absurdly fast, requiring the best controllers to be played to their best capabilities. Now, Razer has unveiled their new Sonic the Hedgehog wireless controller and dock.

Razer has listed their new Sonic the Hedgehog wireless controller on their official website. The controller is officially licensed by Sega and authorized by Microsoft to be compatible for Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC and Mac (through use of an adapter). The grips of the controller prominently feature the image of Sonic himself against a red background featuring a white stripe, with this color scheme clearly meant to evoke the look of Sonic’s iconic footwear. The controller and charging dock both feature some of Sonic’s gold rings, in front of the black and white checkerboard design seen in some Sonic games and the classic Sega video game box art.

The Sonic the Hedgehog wireless controller also includes some nifty features, such as impulse analog triggers. These triggers are pressure-sensitive and allow for greater response and accuracy. The controller also features textured grips on the triggers, back-case and bumpers, allowing for sturdier hold by the user. The device is also designed to be able to charge in under 3 hours with no risk of overcharging, and the dock can use a magnetic connection to prevent the controller from being accidentally disconnected. This is the perfect controller for any Sonic fan that has gotta go fast in style. Too bad it doesn’t have a chili dog holder.
