Rainbow Six Siege Shows Off Its Scenic New Map For Operation Para Bellum (VIDEO)

Rainbow Six Siege shows off its new scenic map as they approach their third year and second season, dropping players off in a breathtaking area of Italy. As the latest map for the upcoming Operation Para Bellum, Villa takes place on land that belongs to a dangerous crime family known for smuggling, the Vinciguerra. Its overextravagent decor features rare art pieces, taxidermied animals, a wine cellar filled to the brim with barrels, and more. Watch the video below:

Rainbow Six Siege’s new map features narrow tunnels, wide staircases, secret hatches, and destructible floors, which sets up the perfect opportunity for surprise. As for the story behind this deceitful Italian paradise, the Vinciguerra family “caught wind of Operation Para Bellum and fled,” leaving behind useful information to be used as evidence against them.

The land belongs to the Vinciguerra, a dangerous crime family known for their smuggling activities. The house is their retreat, where they lead a lavish lifestyle and collect rare art pieces. Now we catch the villa in a snapshot of time: Vinciguerras are burning documents and transporting their holdings before the big raid. But they’ve got wind of Operation Para Bellum and fled, leaving everything in disarray with vital information ready for the taking.”

Interesting changes will arrive alongside Operation Para Bellum as well. Several operators will receive movement speed changes to balance out gameplay interactions. Noticing the trade-off between armor and speed was particularly “skewed to higher speed”, three operators will move slightly slower, 1 slightly faster, and there will be an increase to movement speed when handguns are out as well. Developers often found that speed won out armor systems in “almost all situations” and in order to refine that imbalance, these changes were necessary. For more details on that front, read here!

Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Para Bellum will receive its full reveal on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel on May 19th-20th during the Pro League Finals, so make sure to tune in for all the details! There will be new operators, free weekend dates, patch notes, and lots more. What do you think of the new map Villa? Do you think it will be as exciting as Chimera?
