Live PUBG Desert Map Gameplay Airing During The Game Awards

PUBG desert map gameplay

Fans of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds have quite a lot to look forward to this December. The always-on-its-way-but-never-quite-here climbing and vaulting update is allegedly making its debut on the servers soon, potentially in time for the battle royale title’s Xbox one release date of December 12, 2017. Optional ‘Kill Cams’ are also coming at a later date, which should provide for some cringe-worthy replays of how ‘that guy was totally cheating and omg hacks’. Last but certainly not least, the brand new as-yet unnamed desert map is also arriving soon, potentially at the same time PUBG leaves Steam’s early access program later this month. While we have thus far been only treated to screenshots that is thankfully about to change, as it has been announced that the first ever PUBG desert map gameplay footage will be aired live during the 2017 Game Awards.

As seen above, producer Geoff Keighley confirmed via Twitter that the first ever batch of PUBG desert map gameplay is airing live during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 7. Unfortunately that is all we currently know; it could be live gameplay, but it could also be recorded footage simply broadcast live at some point during the show. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been nominated for a Game of the Year award, so it is possible that whatever Bluehole is planning for its presentation, it will take place closer to when the Game of the Year award winner is announced, especially if it ends up being PUBG. In addition to the main award, PUBG has also been nominated for both the Best Ongoing Game and Best Multiplayer awards, so chances are the developer will go home with an award, despite Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene hoping this isn’t the case.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available for PC, with a Game Preview edition coming to the Xbox One on December 12, 2017. An enhanced edition of the title will also be available for the Xbox One X.
