PUBG Datamine Reveals Snow Map, New Game Modes, And More
Back at E3 2018, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds revealed that a new snow map for the popular battle royale game was in development, with an expected release window of Winter 2018. While little else was revealed about the map, the veil has thankfully been lifted, if only a little, by PUBG dataminers.
The latest PUBG datamine comes to us by way of – of course – Reddit, wherein it is revealed that the new snow map is titled Dihor Otok. According to the datamine, the new map will ship with a snow storm weather type, which should add for some interesting gameplay options while working with – or against – the low visibility it will provide. The points of interest on this map are called Cosmodrome, DinoPark, Villa, Town, Cement Factory, and Castle. Check out the map of Dihor Otok below:
In addition to the snow map, fans can also look forward to a few new game modes as well. While details are pretty much nonexistent for the time being, a new game mode called “conquest” is coming soon where players have to capture a certain area, similar to the domination game mode in the Call of Duty franchise. A “night mode” is also on the way, as is a new game mode involving C4, something previously not available as a weapon.
The new Dihor Otok map arrives at some point in Winter 2018, with the map hitting the experimental server within the next couple months. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available for PC and Xbox One.
