Limited Edition Pokemon Sword and Shield Nintendo Switch Lite Revealed

Nintendo took the internet by storm this week with the announcement of the Nintendo Switch Lite. The new handheld-only version of their hybrid home/portable console comes favorably to many gamers who have wished to play the Switch’s growing library of games, but have wanted a less costly initial price for the console. Nintendo has been known to release improved and/or cheaper versions of their console midway through the device’s life cycle before, such as they have done with the DS Lite and the 2DS. They have also been known to release consoles with special designs related to their big franchises. This tradition will now continue with the newly announced Pokemon Sword and Shield Nintendo Switch Lite.

Nintendo announced the new Pokemon Nintendo Switch Lite on their official Twitter account earlier today. The console is referred to as the Zacian and Zamazenta Edition, named after the two legendary Pokémon that will be found in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Both legendary Pokémon are sketched on the back of the light gray console, and the front joysticks and buttons are colored on each side. The left stick and dpad are colored blue, after Zacian, and the right joystick and buttons are colored light red after Zamazenta.

The special edition console will be available starting on November 8th, just one week before the launch of Pokémon Sun and Moon. The console will be just like the other Nintendo Switch Lite models, so it will only work in handheld mode, the controls are not removable from the device and it will sell at retail for $200. For those preferring a Nintendo Switch Lite without a basic color scheme, this subtle but stylish version is more hip than the Pokerap. What do you guys think about the Pokemon Nintendo Switch Lite?
