Overwatch’s Orisa, the Newest Hero, Being Released Very Soon (VIDEO)

Overwatch's Orisa

Orisa is the latest hero to be revealed in Blizzard’s Overwatch-verse. If you can recall, the mystery surrounding the game’s 24th hero had players going in all directions with their theories. The leading contender was Doomfist, who we can only hope will be voiced by Terry Crews when he does arrive. After game director Jeff Kaplan put an end to that, 11-year-old Efi was introduced to us as the brilliant Numbani native that happens to specialize in robotics and A.I. technologies. Of course, the thought of a child running around in the game, killing and being killed, was a bit ridiculous. However, it was Efi’s expertise that would lead to Overwatch‘s Orisa.

When Doomfist attacked the Numbani airport, things were really set into motion. The OR-15’s didn’t stand a chance against him when he came to reclaim his gauntlet. Efi happened to be at the airport when the attack went down, which is when she decided the OR-15 could do better. She took one home and began to work. After upgrading the bot’s programming, giving her a heart and a name, Overwatch‘s Orisa was born. Now that she has spent a few weeks in the Public Test Region(PTR), Orisa is just about ready to make her official debut. In a recent tweet from the Overwatch Twitter account, we get to see the behind-the-scenes making of Orisa. Along with the video, the activation date was announced. Check it out:

You read that correctly. March 21 will be the date that Overwatch‘s Orisa becomes available for all players to enjoy. If you’re a fan of Reinhardt and/or Bastion, and you haven’t had the chance to try her out in the PTR, you’re going to love Orisa when she arrives next Tuesday. If you’d like to read about our first impressions on the character and see her customization options, you can check that out here.

What say you, heroes? Those who haven’t gotten the chance to play as Orisa in the PTR, are you excited that she is being activated on March 21?
