Overwatch’s Halloween Terror 2017 Launch Date Possibly Leaked

Halloween Terror 2017

The month of fright and terror is upon us(well, close enough), which means gamers’ favorite games will be receiving special events with a ton of glorious loot. Blizzard’s Overwatch is sure to be no exception as Halloween Terror 2017 will undoubtedly be in full swing for a decent amount of October. While nothing is set in stone just yet, a recent leak may just point fans in the direction of a start date for the event.

A couple images depicting promotional materials were recently posted to Reddit by user darthchiapet. One said photo promotes Overwatch balance cards and features Reaper’s Pumpkin skin, a popular grab from last year’s event. It even says Halloween Terror 2017 in a very promotional and official kind of way. Almost…too official. As it is with any leak, we suggest a healthy dose of sodium to be taken alongside it. Check out both pictures below:

The first image shown above features what one can assume to be the date(October 9) the promotional materials are to begin their life as a display within a store. In the past, such promos went up the day before the actual event began. October 10 will be a Tuesday, which happens to be when Blizzard usually implements changes within the popular FPS. Last year, the Halloween Terror event began on October 11, so starting a day earlier doesn’t seem to be entirely out of the question.

However, something stands out to make one question the authenticity of the leak: Reaper’s Pumpkin skin. Why would Blizzard use last year’s model when new and shiny loot awaits? Would they do it for familiarity purposes? We’ll just have to wait for official word from Jeff Kaplan and the Overwatch team.
