Overwatch PTR Patch Reverses Previous Moira Buff

Overwatch

Overwatch has a testing server that lets players experiment with upcoming changes and give feedback on what they like and dislike about them. This method is quite ingenious allowing the developers to see their ideas come to life without the majority of their fanbase turning against an unfair update or feature. Overwatch’s Moira is an excellent example, with an upcoming buff for the character being reversed after backlash from fans within the PTR.

Moira is already one slippery character thanks to her advanced mobility, however, a recent update to the Overwatch PTR made her much too evasive. The buff allowed for Moira to use her Fade ability even while stunned and according to Blizzard, the purpose of the change was to reinforce her evasive nature, allowing her to possibly save her team from area stuns.

Moira has always been good at healing and dealing damage, but she offers very little utility compared to the other healers. This change reinforces her evasive nature and allows her potentially save her team from area stuns such as Reinhardt’s Earthshatter.

While the buff was made with good intentions, giving the character more utility, it seems that in practice the buff made Moira incredibly overpowered when it came to evading stuns in general. The video below shows off a few instances where the character is able to be stunned and evade within seconds no matter the situation. Thankfully the developers heard the cries of fans and the most recent update has reverted back to the previous Moira Face ability, making it so she can no longer use it to escape from being stunned.

Overwatch is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Let us know your thoughts on the Moira changes being reversed and more in the comments section below. As always don’t forget to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Twitter for 24/7 coverage of all things gaming and entertainment.
