New Silent Hill Game Reportedly Underway By Kojima Productions
Konami’s decision to cancel PT undeniably still bugs fans to this day, especially given how much potential the Hideo Kojima-led title seemingly had if the demo was anything to go by. While lamenting the past is certainly understandable, we may have some good news for the future of Silent Hills games, as a new report is now suggesting that Hideo Kojima is in talks with Konami to create a brand new Silent Hill game.
The report comes by way of a new Reddit post wherein user Sarkzl0001 claims that Hideo Kojima has been in talks with Konami for Kojima Productions to develop a new Silent Hill game now that the studio has finished working on Death Stranding. The deal is allegedly “settled,” and the title will apparently be funded by both Kojima Productions and an undisclosed third party. Konami will reportedly have a say in who the main actor is (not Norman Reedus), but otherwise the ball will be in Kojima Productions’ court.
As usual, leaks of this nature should be taken with a massive grain of salt, especially considering Hideo Kojima and Konami’s rocky past. The doors seemed particularly closed regarding any collaborative efforts between the two parties, though given Kojima’s recent interest in all things spooky and scary, perhaps the prospect of returning to finish what he started by making a new Silent Hill game is what brought him back to the bargaining table. Fans of PT certainly won’t have much to complain about if the rumors turn out to be true.
So, thoughts on the possibility of a new Silent Hill game? Who would you like to see as the main actor?
