Hideo Kojima Wants To Awaken His "Horror Soul" To Make Scary Games

The legendary Hideo Kojima is at it again, essentially promising fans that he plans on scaring us all half to death. Having completed his work on Death Stranding, Kojima-san appears to be beginning his preparations for his next project, which may end up seeing him revisit the horror genre after the canceled Silent Hills game. In order to properly prepare, Kojima-san is working to awaken his “horror soul,” whatever that means.

Hideo Kojima recently revealed via his Guinness World Record Twitter account that he plans on making the “scariest horror game,” and in order to do so he’s going to be watching a ton of horror movies, some of which were so scary that he had to turn it off. “As to make the scariest horror game, I’ll watch the scary movies in order to awaken my horror soul,” he said. “THE EYE is the Thai horror movie I rent when making PT but was too scary to finish watching.” Check out the full tweet below:

As much as I’ve been loving Death Stranding thus far, I don’t think I could truly commit to a pure horror game, even if it is one by Hideo Kojima. Still, never say never, it could be interesting enough for non-horror fans to get into.
