New Saints Row Game “Deep In Development,” Volition Confirms
It’s been years since Deep Silver Volition released a title in the Saints Row franchise. Seeing as the last iteration launched in 2013 with Saints Row IV, a sequel is either long overdue or a new property is in-bound. For fans of the purple madness, they’re in luck. In quarterly report held by THQ Nordic, it turns out a sequel is “deep in development.”
To provide stakeholders and investors more insight on their future plans, the publisher sat down to talk goals and numbers. With “a strong pipeline of games in development” at Deep Silver, THQ Nordic, and Coffee Stain, the future looks bright. In addition to their growth in revenue for all three companies, Deep Silver Volition is hard at work bringing a sequel to one of their beloved intellectual properties – Saints Row.
“Volition is deep in development of a brand-new Saints Row game, the first full entry in this much loved series since Saints Row IV was released in 2013,” says Lars Wingefors, founder and CEO of THQ Nordic. Unfortunately, that’s all there is in terms of its progress.
However, there are high ambitions for Deep Silver. Just last year, Deep Silver acquired TimeSplitters, bringing back hope to an “influential” game from the early 2000s. Joining the team to make this revival a reality, series creator Steve Ellis has been invited to “help plot the future course for this franchise.” That’s phenomenal news all around!
