New Resident Evil Showcase Happening Next Month
There are many beloved gaming franchises that are set to have a promising year in 2021, one of the most popular franchises to have several big projects in the works is the Resident Evil series. The franchise is set to release one of the biggest new games of the year in Resident Evil: Village, launching in May. Capcom has gradually revealed details and footage for the game over the past year, and opted to reveal more with a Resident Evil Showcase digital event a few months ago. Now, a new Resident Evil Showcase has been confirmed for next month providing more news about the game.
Capcom announced the upcoming Resident Evil showcase coming next month through a blog post on their official website. The post confirms that a new showcase will be available on the official Resident Evil YouTube channel, where it suggests watching the January showcase available still to watch on the channel. This would imply that the format for the new presentation will be similar to this January one. A separate PR email (via VG247) describes the upcoming presentation as follows:
“The Resident Evil Showcase in January revealed information on significant new gameplay features and characters for Resident Evil Village as well as other brand updates, and the April event will follow suit with new game content and 25th anniversary news to share.”
The January Resident Evil Showcase unveiled new looks at Resident Evil: Village and announced Resident Evil RE:Verse as well. Some have speculated that aside from more looks at RE: Village, we might also get new peeks at the upcoming animated Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and live-action Wesker-focused television series in the works at Netflix. With it being the 25th anniversary of the series, this certainly seems like the proper treatment for such an important franchise in the world of gaming, television, film, and media in general. Now, that’s a wide Umbrella to uphold.
