A New Pokémon Game Announcement Reportedly Coming Soon
Pokémon Let’s Go released just last year, taking fans back to the Kanto region introduced in Red and Blue and later reintroduced FireRed and LeafGreen. It wasn’t however the next “main” series game that developers had announced in the works for the Nintendo Switch, however the Pokémon company did confirm that there would be a title coming sometime in the second half of 2019. Now it seems fan may be able to see a reveal of this upcoming gameas soon as later this month – perhaps at this week’s Nintendo Direct?
Pokémon Day is celebration of the franchise and traditionally occurs on the 27th of February. This year Nintendo has decided to put together a 5-day long event at the Nintendo NYC retail store filled with various festivities including Q&A panels from Nintendo Treehouse each day.

Nintendo Treehouse is one of the groups in charge of localizing games for the Americas, however they also share some popular livestream presentations featuring information regarding freshly released or upcoming content. While it is entirely possible that Nintendo is simply looking to fill the 5 day long event with content, its also liekly that there could be an announcement of the new Pokémon title. This would also line up with other titles such as X, Y, Sun, and Moon that all had releases 9 months after being released. If the upcoming Pokémon game releases around the Holiday season, the end of February would make for a similar amount of time.
Nintendo NYC’s Pokémon day event is set to run from February 27th through until March 3rd.
