New Persona 5 The Animation Trailer Shows Off The Phantom Thieves (VIDEO)
Persona is a Japanese RPG series that has done well in garnering critical acclaim outside the confines of the country, especially in the West. With the success that Atlus and P Studio had with their most recent addition, an official animated series is set to premiere in April. As with most anime coming from Japan its first episode debut will begin there, but international fans can expect a subtitled one shortly after with Aniplex US. Less than a week away from release, Atlus and company showcase a new Persona 5 the Animation trailer to build up the excitement.
Ren Amamiya is about to enter his second year after transferring to Shujin Academy in Tokyo. Following a particular incident, his Persona awakens, and together with his friends they form the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts” to reform hearts of corrupt adults by stealing the source of their distorted desires. Meanwhile, bizarre and inexplicable crimes have been popping up one after another… Living an ordinary high school life in Tokyo during the day, the group maneuvers the metropolitan city as Phantom Thieves after hours. Let the curtain rise for this grand, picaresque story!”
Safe to say, the animation style gets an A-plus and fans in the West can’t wait to see it. What are your thoughts on the new Persona 5 the Animation trailer?
