PlayStation VR Gets A Significant Price Drop

PlayStation VR Price

The PlayStation 4 boasts a number exciting titles for those that own Sony’s VR peripheral, but that considerable price tag may have convinced some to hold off on getting into virtual immersion for the time being. Well, after a limited time price cut last month, Sony has announced a permanent drop in the PlayStation VR price, which lowers the cost to $100 USD lower than its original retail value.

Coming down from the device’s initial price of $399 USD to the new price of $299 USD, PlayStation VR will be as affordable as ever to PlayStation 4 owners. This epic drop in price already applies to the system’s many bundles, including the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR bundle which whittles it down to $449.99 USD. The new price change is to go live on March 29th, or tomorrow at the time of writing.

This significant shrink in cost comes as the Sony console is beginning a major push for its VR technology, planning to put out over 180 immersive titles this year alone. We’ve seen many of these games materialize recently as survival horror game The Inpatient and fantasy puzzle game Moss, with much more still to offer the rest of March and in the coming months.

What do you think? Is the new PlayStation VR price finally low enough to purchase, or does it still seem like it’s too much?
