Season 4 of Overwatch’s competitive play is coming on the 28th and players are starting to wonder what new changes and content we can expect to see. Obviously some changes are already being tested in the PTR, but according to Game Director Jeff Kaplan, we will be receiving so much more! A user on Battle.net asked why it takes so long to create new sitting emotes when they already have an existing model to work with. Kaplan responded that it doesn’t actually take that long, it’s just that they have different priorities … like creating brand new Overwatch heroes!

“Great question. The emotes themselves don’t take months. It’s more on the order of days/weeks. It’s more of a prioritization issue. We have multiple new heroes being worked on right now plus numerous events and event-related content. We’re always asking ourselves “what would make the biggest impact for the most people” when we prioritize. Right now, we feel like introducing a new hero to the line up would be more impactful to the game. Hope that makes sense.”

What we want to know, is if there is no Easter event planned, then what could the next event be? My vote is Saint Patrick’s Day theme, but maybe I’m just feeling lucky. Get it? Luck of the Irish?
