PlatinumGames has released an awesome new Nier: Automata trailer, their action-RPG followup to the original Nier (2010) from developer Cavia. Chock full of intense android-on-robot action, the new trailer features some gameplay elements we haven’t seen before, as well as some of the enemies our android protagonist 2B will encounter on her first outing.  The trailer’s title is ‘Glory to Mankind 11450310’, check it out below.

The trailer itself is absolutely stunning and the environments are beautiful and varied, which should alleviate some of the earlier concerns that 2B would be spending the majority of the game in the desert.  That said, 2B herself is no slouch either.  For an android, she’s absolutely gorgeous, and thanks to PlatinumGames, her outfit of choice appears to include thigh-highs, as well as other various states of undress.  Not to worry though, that door swings both ways.

The trailer has also revealed the Day One Edition of the game, which includes some digital bonus content for those who pre-order Nier: Automata.  Most of the exclusive content appears to be reskins for 2B’s companion, called a Pod, which essentially takes the place of the first game’s companion, the Grimoire Weiss.  There is also something called a Machine Mask Accessory, which essentially replaces 2B’s head with a rusty iron ball, if you’re into that sort of thing.  The Day One Edition of the game runs at the normal game price of $59.99.

The Black Box Edition of the game, however, is a completely different story.  This ultimate edition of the game comes with a suite of physical items, and will run you $189.99.  There is currently a waiting list for this edition on the Square Enix Online Store, though you may be able to find it elsewhere.  Pre-ordering the Black Box Edition will also net you all of the digital bonus content from the Day One Edition.
