New Mass Effect Trailer Teases The Return of A Fan-Favorite Character (VIDEO)
The Game Awards 2020 have now come and gone, and the night offered plenty of surprises and fun moments. Per tradition, the night also featured several big reveals including the first look at a new Perfect Dark game and the first cinematic trailer for Dragon Age 4. One franchise that many have wanted to know is returning is the Mass Effect franchise, which was confirmed to have a remake of its original trilogy in the works, but little word on whether a new game for the series was in development. Well, as the last reveal of the night, The Game Awards did drop the bomb that was a new Mass Effect game teaser.
BioWare and EA have released the new Mass Effect game teaser that made its world premiere at The Game Awards 2020 livestream on the official Mass Effect YouTube channel. The trailer begins showing our Milky Way galaxy, and expanding to further parts of the cosmos, as classic real-world NASA audio is heard. We eventually see a space ship arriving at an icy planet, with a hooded figure scaling a snowy mountainside.
The hooded person digs into the snow and finds a broken piece of armor, brushes off the armor and reveals the classic N7 logo on it. We then see the side of the face of the hooded figure looking into the distance. At first, discussion amongst our writers theorized that this was Tali, but noticed the hand has four fingers and a thumb unlike Tali’s three fingers. It seems that this is instead Liara T’soni, undeniably a fan-favorite character from the original trilogy. After all that 2020 has thrown at the world, it will be nice to celebrate a better future with some romantic encounters with aliens (if 2020 doesn’t throw that into the mix in real life before it ends).
