New Final Fantasy VII Remake Gameplay Revealed (VIDEO)
Despite all the odds suggesting that new Final Fantasy VII Remake gameplay would appear in the days leading up to E3 2019, Sony surprised us all by firing off an absolutely gorgeous gameplay trailer for the game at the end of today’s State of Play stream.
Revealed as practically an afterthought, the latest footage of Square Enix’s long-anticipated remake gives us loads of new footage from the game’s beginning bombing mission, while also showing off how amazingly beautiful Aeris is thanks to the power of current-gen graphics. Thanks for breaking our hearts again, Square Enix. Check out the new Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer below:
As mentioned, the above trailer shows off plenty of new footage from the opening bombing mission of Final Fantasy VII, while also finally revealing our first look at Aeris. Other notable inclusions are our first look at Sephiroth (albeit from behind), as well as new shots of the members of AVALANCHE.
Loads of new gameplay was also revealed, revealing the ‘Punisher’ attack for Cloud as well as the ‘Backblast’ attack for Barrett, when players are controlling him. Cloud’s iconic Cross-Slash is also seen towards the end of the actual gameplay segment.
All in all, the Final Fantasy VII Remake looks to be shaping up quite nicely despite all the rumors the game has been incurring over the years. Thankfully we won’t have to wait too long to see more, as Square Enix is teasing ‘more to come in June,’ likely on or around the dedicated Final Fantasy VII concert set to take place on June 9th of this year.
