Let the character speculation continue! Revealed on the official website today, the date has been set for the next Injustice 2 character reveal. This coming Thursday, March 2nd is when we can expect developer NetherRealm Studios to show off the next addition to the DC fighting game’s already impressive roster. The message was posted in the usual spot on the website, with the mystery fighter again represented by a generic wire-frame mannequin.

The latest Injustice 2 character reveal showed up in last week’s “Shattered Alliances” trailer. Though the primary focus of the video was to showcase Superman’s villainous motives following the events of the first game, the footage also revealed DC hero Cyborg, a previously unannounced fighter. It makes sense why the technology-based character would be brought back for a second game, as Cyborg is also gearing up to have a large presence in the upcoming Justice League film.

So far, NetherRealm Studios has revealed 20 playable characters, with 20 more still left to be announced. We’re only halfway done and relatively obscure characters such as Atrocitus, Swamp Thing, and Cheetah have all been given recognition, much to the delight of comic book fans. NetherRealm’s picks make it seem as though anyone from the DC Multiverse could be a possible Injustice 2 character. Okay, maybe not anyone
