Netflix’s The Witcher Series Is Officially Getting ‘That’ Bathtub Scene
As another San Diego Comic-Con comes to a close, a look back at the week of big announcements would confirm that The Witcher was one of the biggest projects to be highlighted at the event. The first trailer for the series made its debut at the big Witcher panel, which took the Internet by storm by going viral. However, with this iteration on the Witcher story following more of the lore from The Witcher books, some have wondered if certain elements will be kept in this version, such as the infamous bathtub. According to the series showrunner, fans can expect to see a Witcher bathtub scene in the new series.
As reported on i09, series showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich recently spoke to several outlets at a press roundtable about the new series. At the roundtable, Hissrich was asked whether The Witcher fans could expect to see Easter eggs related to aspects of the books and games in the new series, with one particular subject in mind. As Hissrich states, “There is a bathtub this season. There is a bathtub. I won’t tell you who’s in the bathtub, but there is a bathtub.”
The bathtub became the subject of many memes and inside jokes among fans, which Hissrich acknowledged as part of its inclusion in the new series. This is a part of her intentions to honor the particular elements of the other versions that have stuck with fans, per their requests and wishes. For Hissrich, her personal favorite is the “A Question Of Price” short story that explained how Ciri came to be Geralt’s surprise child, so fans can expect to see that story reflected in the new series. It’s great to see that Hissrich and her team are so committed to celebrating iconic Witcher lore, while still striving to tell their own take on Geralt’s story. Here’s hoping we see some horse shenanigans in the new series too.
