Netflix June 2018: What’s New And What’s Leaving (VIDEO)
According to calendars, June will soon be upon us, and the month not only brings the tie-gifting occasion of Father’s Day, but also a flood of exciting new Netflix selections. Among the many additions hitting Netflix June 2018, Disney provides some of the biggest with the newest galaxy-spanning Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the god of thunder’s comedic threequel Thor: Ragnarok, and the classic tree-surfing animated film Tarzan.
Favorites such as the Nic Cage treasure-hunting tale National Treasure, yet another Disney film in 101 Dalmatians, an the compelling crime drama The Departed arrive early in the month. Netflix June 2018 also premieres new seasons for original programming such as Season 2 of Marvel’s super-powered Luke Cage, new episodes of the 80s-set women’s wrestling series GLOW, and the long-awaited finale special for the cancelled Sense8.
As per the Netflix circle of life, new movies and shows mean some selections must leave to make room. Whie not many are disappearing, movies like Men in Black, The Great Gatsby, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will surely be missed. Even though a great number of Disney titles are on their way to Netflix June 2018, the company is still very much continuing its foretold mass exodus from the platform. Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War will be latest leaving at the end of the month.
Since last month’s list went live, news of Netflix’s upcoming Witcher series has seen several new developments, including the hiring of some especially exciting writers and the promise to remain extra faithful to the source material. We also got a release date for ‘Simpsons‘ creator Matt Groening’s new fantasy series, Disenchantment, which arrives this August.
