Narrative-Driven PUBG Game In Development From Dead Space Producer (VIDEO)

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is well known for bringing a massive influx of popularity to the Battle Royale scene and has seen continued success over the years for its intense tactical gameplay. While there won’t be any sequel to the title, that isn’t to say the developers don’t want to explore the universe of PUBG. Currently, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds does feature some lore detailing the various maps in the game though there isn’t much to go on outside of the small bits and pieces scattered around. This might all change with a full-on story-driven experience set within the PUBG universe.

Dead Space and Call of Duty developer Glen Schofield will be heading up a new studio being built from the ground up. This studio called, Striking Distance, is aiming to do some major worldbuilding within the PUBG franchise with a new title. Sadly, not much is known about what the plans are for the brand new team but with it being led by a developer with such a strong background in narrative-driven titles, fans are sure to be in for a treat.

The upcoming title has yet to receive a release date let alone an announcement on what platforms the game will be available on. Are there any stories you’d like to see told in the Battle Royale genre, or in PUBG itself? Let us know your thoughts on a story-driven title set in the PUBG universe and more in the comments section below.
