Dead Space Remake Devs Going Radio Silent Until 2022

Earlier this year the folks over at EA Motive announced Dead Space Remake, committing to rebuilding the Ishimura from the ground up for a more modern survival horror experience. Just a few weeks later the studio released an early look at a small part of the game, with DFTG’s Eric Hall complimenting the remake on its attention to detail and often-atmospheric Aesthetic. Following these nuggets of content, the developer has announced that it will be going radio silent regarding the game until next year.

Dead Space Remake developer EA Motive recently posted an update about the status of the game, specifically noting that the team will be going “heads down” on development and that we won’t be seeing new footage until 2022. “Everything we showed was a work in progress which means that we’ll be working on things like Isaac’s suit, the aesthetic and ambience of the Ishimura,” EA Motive community manager Caden House said in the update on Reddit. “We’re doing work to ensure it has the right level of wear and tear. For example, here is an early work in progress clip showing some of the ways that the team is going to be giving that worn look to the Ishimura.”

We’re going to be heads down now working on the game, taking some time to review all the thoughts, theories, and suggestions you’ve all shared with us. We look forward to showing you how you’ve helped shape the game next year when we’re further in development!”

Given what we’ve seen thus far it appears that the Dead Space Remake is still a long ways off. Thankfully the devs appear fully committed to delivering on the promise of an expertly crafted remake, so, it’ll more than likely be worth the wait.

Dead Space Remake is now in development.
