Mortal Kombat XI Announcement

With the end of 2018 finally here, gamers across the world are excited for The Game Awards 2018, and the many promised news updates on big upcoming games. More than ten new game announcements will mark their debut at the big event later this week, and many gamers have been theorizing as to what titles these might be. One popular contender for this list has been Mortal Kombat XI, which has been rumored to be in development for a while now. Well, now rumors have arisen that point to a Mortal Kombat XI announcement coming to The Game Awards 2018.

An anonymous 4Chan post was recently made by a source claiming to be a QA tester working on what will be Mortal Kombat XI. According to the source, the game will be one of the new titles announced at  The Game Awards 2018. The tester also claims that the game will have a 4 year development cycle, and it will utilize the Unreal Engine 4, rather than the Unreal Engine 3 used in past NetherRealm games.

The other big details from this source revolve around their claims of the game having a new adventure mode, which will be similar to the Shaolin Monks mode. This mode will supposedly allow for single or 2-player co-op, both online and local. Some storylines in the mode will include Raiden looking to punish earthrealm attackers, Shang Tsung and Reiko protecting and ruling out world security thanks to a deal with Kotal Kahn, and Liu Kang preparing an army alongside Kitana. These are all rumors at this point, so these should not be taken as gospel truth, but fortunately we won’t have to wait long for The Game Awards to potentially give some merit to these claims. If they aren’t true, then this source’s credibility will certainly become a fatality.
