Final Fantasy VII Remake Dev Provides Update On Physical Copy Distribution

It looks like Square Enix is still doing the best it can to ensure that physical copies of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake make it into the waiting hands of those that pre-ordered the game on launch day. To that end, the Japanese publisher has issued a statement regarding the rather uncertain nature of physical distribution, revealing that there may still be an unfortunate wait for an unlucky percentage of those waiting.

Square Enix recently took to Twitter to admit that, due to current restrictions on distribution and delivery of non-essential items, the actual arrival date of physical copies of the Final Fantasy VII Remake is out of the publisher’s hands. That isn’t to say that the product won’t ship, the publisher just wants people to know that once they do, it’ll be up to distribution centers and the restrictions currently placed upon them for when the product actually arrives.

This of course is only worsened by the fact that many retail stores are closed, so those that placed their pre-orders through box stores like GameStop are at the mercy of when said stores decide to re-open, which is decidedly uncertain given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Here’s hoping that those that can’t snag the Final Fantasy VII Remake on launch date won’t have to wait too much longer to get their hands on the game.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is slated to release on April 10, 2020 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
