Mortal Kombat 11 Rambo Gameplay Is Your Worst Nightmare (VIDEO)
Mortal Kombat 11 is gearing up for its big next-gen debut with Mortal Komabt 11 Ultimate, the most comprehensive version of the game thus far, containing all current DLC and coinciding with the release of Kombat Pack 2. The long-awaited DLC pack is slated to add Rain, Mileena, and guest character John Rambo to the gruesome fighting title for current and next-gen versions of the game. So far, only Rain has shown off his brutally divine moveset, with a second character now being showcased in a new Mortal Kombat 11 Rambo gameplay trailer.
As seen in the footage below, the Sylvester Stallone character appears to be as ruthless as ever in Mortal Kombat 11, mainly dealing out close-quarters knife combat, grenades, and ranged compound bow attacks. Surprisingly, Rambo also features quite a unique offense in the form of environmental traps, allowing the character to quickly trigger rope snares, swinging logs, and claymore mines on the battlefield. His Fatality is especially gruesome, seeing an opponent impaled by a spike trap as Rambo finishes them off with one of his trademark throat rips.
This Mortal Kombat 11 Rambo gameplay trailer is filled to the brim with gruesome callbacks to the original three Rambo movies, a purposeful endeavor as revealed in a new post on the PlayStation Blog. According to NetherRealm Story & Voiceover Director Dominic Cianciolo, John Rambo was given similar treatment to other guest characters in the game, with devs capturing the character’s signature look from First Blood, recreating many of his killer moves from the film, and enlisting Sylvester Stallone himself to provide voice acting for the fighter. In addition, Cianciolo teased the inclusion of numerous references to the Rambo franchise as well as Stallone’s iconic career, something he recalls made Stallone chuckle when he initially recorded his lines.
As he performed the lines, he noticed the many references we had included, not only from the Rambo films, but also from the rest of his body of work. When you play, listen closely to the banter for references to The Expendables, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man and more. It was a real kick to see that he was so entertained. Hopefully, Rambo fans will have as much fun with the experience as did the man himself.”
Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack 2 comes to Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 17th. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate releases for all current platforms as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the same date.
