Mortal Kombat 11 Fan Art Transforms Doug Jones Into Reptile

Mortal Kombat 11 has been mighty busy delivering a Fatality to fans’ hype as of late, showing off a batch of exceedingly gruesome gameplay as well as dropping various tidbits about all the new additions this next time around. Some of the game’s more creative followers have decidedly expressed their excitement with artwork, one of the more recent contributors being the artist known as BossLogic.

Often mashing up actors with figures of pop culture, BossLogic has been on a roll lately casting notable actors into NetherRealm Studios’ deadly otherworldly tournament. We’ve so far featured pairings such as Gal Gadot as Kitana, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Shao Kahn, and Terry Crews as Jackson “Jax” Briggs. Now, the artist has now thrown together yet another amazing mash-up depicting actor Doug Jones as MK’s scaly ninja, Reptile. Check it out below.

As Doug Jones possesses a unique look and a particular set of acting skills, he’s often a favorite for roles that place him under heavy makeup and prosthetics. Having already contributed captivating performances as Marvel’s Silver Surfer, Hellboy‘s Abe Sapien, as well as Star Trek: Discovery’s Commander Saru, the role of Reptile from Mortal Kombat 11 would seem to absolutely be in his wheelhouse, a quality which makes this fan-casting all the more perfect.

A live-action movie based on Mortal Kombat has been in the works for a while now and while that project is currently stuck in limbo, it’s undeniable that Jones would be an awesome addition to the film. In the meantime, NetherRealm is preparing to deliver fans another round of gore-filled fan service with the release Mortal Kombat 11, the game seeing its release later on this year. Reptile is still yet to be confirmed among the game’s growingly-impressive roster, but that may not be the case for long according to a recent leak.

Mortal Kombat 11 will release for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 23rd.
