Terry Crews Wants To Portray Jax After Mortal Kombat Fan Art Goes Viral

Mortal Kombat - Terry Crews - Jax

The Mortal Kombat series has seen a resurgence of popularity and relevance on social media lately, largely thanks to the announcement last month of Mortal Kombat 11. Events like that and the big reveal of new details for the upcoming game last month have led to plenty of memes and fan art celebrating the series.

One common fan art pastime has seen famous celebrities depicted as characters from favorite game series, and as recently seen with fan art depicting Will Smith as Goro, Mortal Kombat is no exception to this. Now, one artist’s Mortal Kombat fan art has depicted what Terry Crews might look like as fan favorite Jax.

BossLogic is perhaps one of the most infamous fan artists of nerd-favorite franchises, and his digital art skills know no limits. Recently, BossLogic posted his latest work, an image visualizing Terry Crews as Jax from Mortal Kombat, on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. The image adds Jax’s signature scars and cybernetic arms to the impossibly chiseled body of Crews, showing that the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor would be a perfect fit for Jax in a film or television series.

As the image grew in popularity, it eventually caught the attention of legendary Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon, who gave his approval of the fan art. And not only that, but Boon’s tagging of Terry Crews’ Twitter account caused the actor himself to confirm that he would indeed be thrilled to portray the character in a future project. Only time will tell if such a project comes to life, but for now, fans can dream at night of the image of Jax jamming out to Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” in a car.
