Monster Hunter World Now Free To Play On PS4 For A Limited Time

Capcom has been particularly busy this past week. During Sony’s recent State of Play stream, it was revealed that the latest upcoming expansion for Monster Hunter World, titled Iceborne, would be releasing on September 6 of this year. The teaser footage from the expansion was also shown again, which can be watched right here. We also have some pretty good news for those that have yet to try out the game, as Capcom has revealed that there is now a limited-time trial period for Monster Hunter World on the PlayStation 4.

Recently announced by Capcom, the free trial period for the game runs now through May 20th. Said trial allows players to fully customize their own character and enjoy the initial parts of the popular title. Only two areas in the game are able to be explored in the free trial: the Ancient Forest and Wildspire Wastes. Players can explore either location at their convenience, though due to the nature of the free trial only three star quests and lower are available to try out.

Rather importantly, those playing online can also play with others that are testing out the free trial, which is important as you won’t objectively get the full ‘Monster Hunter’ experience without taking down a few targets as a group once or twice. Those that decide to jump into the full game will also be able to take their free trial save data with them, should they choose to do so.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 6, 2019.
