Monster Hunter Movie Reveals Two New Character Posters

It’s been quite some time since we’ve had any news regarding the live-action Monster Hunter movie adaptation. Starring Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich and the indomitable Tony Jaa and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the title is expected to feature bloody big monsters and a bit of a fish out of water story that includes some sort of dimensional travel, because reasons. Now, some new character posters have been revealed featuring both stars of the upcoming film.

Two new Monster Hunter movie posters have been retrieved from the wilds thanks to the folks over at IGN. The two posters feature Milla Jovovich’s character wielding a greatsword known as the Giant Jawblade or Tony Jaa’s character holding the Great Hunter’s Bow. The backdrop for each poster is a desert-like area that is supposed to act as the film’s version of the Wildspire Wastes area from Monster Hunter World. Check out both posters below:

According to IGN, those lucky enough to be in Boston this weekend for PAX East can actually snag a miniature version of either poster during the Monster Hunter Festa event slated to take place this Saturday, February 29th. Here’s the official synopsis for the film:

“Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.”

The Monster Hunter movie is slated to release on September 4, 2020.
