Michael Keaton Announced to Portray Vulture in Spiderman: Homecoming
Since May of this year, word has gotten out that Michael Keaton will be portraying the mechanized villain, Vulture, in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Spider-man: Homecoming film. While that news had been groundbreaking in itself, there wasn’t much in the way of officially announcing it for several months.
Now, we have word that Michael Keaton will indeed be portraying the film’s dastardly villain. The announcement was made official by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, during an interview with the Toronto Sun just a few days ago. Feige had been talking about the release of Doctor Strange when the topic of Spider-Man came up. Just like the rest of us, Feige seems excited for the inclusion of this Hollywood star in the cast:
We’ve had a wish list and most of them in the near-term are coming together. Cate Blanchett is playing Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man is something. And of course, finally, we’re showcasing Josh Brolin’s Thanos (in Avengers: Infinity War). We’re looking forward to that very much.
Despite the lack of an official announcement for several months, Michael Keaton has been filming for the Web-slinger’s film since rumors started. This news also comes shortly after concept art for the film was released on Twitter, where you can get an idea of what Keaton’s villain will look like. So far, he seems just as terrifying as we’d hoped.

It’s going to be a long several months until we get to see exactly what kind of impact the Vulture will have on the MCU, and we’re excited to see the culmination at long last. Michael Keaton has always been an incredible actor, and his inclusion in the film will star alongside many other famous faces, including Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and of course Tom Holland, leaving us with no doubt that we’re in for a real treat.
What do you guys think of this official announcement? Do you think Michael Keaton will make a good villain for our wall-crawling favorite superhero? Give us a shout out in the comments below and let us know your thoughts!
