Marvel's Avengers: Spider-Man Will Have "Certain Parallels" To Miles Morales

Crystal Dynamics created quite the rift in its budding Marvel’s Avengers community when the company announced that the ever-popular Spider-Man will be coming to the game as a PlayStation console exclusive. Outside of its notable exclusivity not much is currently known about Spider-Man, including which version of the web-slinger will be portrayed within the game. While still remaining tight lipped regarding this particular Spidey’s identity, Crystal Dynamics has revealed that the Spider-Man present in Marvel’s Avengers will have “certain parallels” to Miles Morales.

During a recent interview with EW, VP and Head of Creative for Marvel Games Bill Rosemann spoke a bit on the diverse nature of the Spider-Man character and how each iteration is meant to be different from the next. “Each game is in the Marvel universe, but they’re in their own reality if you will,” Rosemann said. “Currently, our plan is to keep each game set in its own Marvel universe.” Rosemann goes on to explain that doing things this way allows the game makers as much freedom as possible while crafting their own, unique stories. “So, while this year’s Avengers won’t be linked to Spider-Man, it has its own web-slinger,” he said.

Spider-Man has been confirmed to arrive in Marvel’s Avengers as a DLC story sometime after launch. But when the game drops, it will also come with a lead character who maintains certain parallels to Miles.”

It’s currently unknown what these parallels will be, though fans needn’t wait too much longer as Marvel’s Avengers is slated to release on September 4th, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
