Venom Takes Over Marvel Heroes in New Venom Variant Covers
Part of the novelty of buying a comic book is collecting an edition that has a variant cover. These variants can occasionally turn out to be a limited edition making the comic book more than simply a few pages of art and entertainment, but a collectors item as well. Marvel Comics is especially known for having limited edition variant covers and this coming Spring they have allowed one of the most vicious and clingy villains to take over not just a few of Marvel’s better known characters, but the covers of the comic books themselves. Come March, Marvel Comics will release 25 comics featuring a Venom variant cover.
If you are familiar with any of the Spider-Man comics then chances are you are familiar with Venom and Carnage. Venom and Carnage are the incarnations of super villains created by a symbiotic parasite merging with other entities in order to create a being of wanton violence and destruction as is seldom rivaled. These variant covers illustrate what some of Marvel’s most popular characters would look like if they were to be ‘Venomized.’
So far there has been artwork released for 24 of the 25 covers with the last being unreleased at this time. The covers and editions will be displayed in the gallery below and are as follows:
