Marvel Reveals Titles For Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, And More (VIDEO)

Black Panther 2

Easily one of the biggest and most enduring forces in popular culture today is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the MCU has been absent from theaters since the summer of 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has recently resumed on the Disney Plus streaming service with miniseries’ for WandaVision and Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Thankfully, with vaccines making audiences more comfortable with returning to theaters, Marvel Studios is hoping to release several Marvel films throughout the rest of 2021 along with new streaming series like Loki. Now, a new MCU video highlights the series’s past, as well as its future titles, including Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2.

Marvel Entertainment released a new video titled “Marvel Studios Celebrates the Movies” on their official YouTube channel. The first half of the video shows highlights from the previously released Marvel films, leading up to an audience’s reaction to the grand climax of Avengers Endgame. From there, the video shifts its focus to this year’s theatrical releases, including Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and The Eternals. From this, the first official footage of Eternals is revealed, showing the diverse cast of new heroes.

After that, the remainder of the video reminds viewers of the additional Marvel films planned for this year and beyond. Spider-Man: No Way Home closes out 2021, with new Doctor Strange and Thor films ringing in 2022. The video also updates audiences with what are the new official titles for Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2. These sequels are now officially titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Marvels, respectively.

For the Black Panther sequel, this new title seems to indicate what is likely going to be a greater focus on the nation of Wakanda and its residents in the new film, given the absence of the late Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. The new Captain Marvel title is likely reflecting the inclusion of Monica Rambeau and Kamala Kahn in addition to Brie Larson’s Carole Danvers. The video ends with the logos of the new Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Fantastic 4 movies also coming later in 2023 and beyond. Hopefully, production on all of these films goes well so audiences can have a great time returning to theaters. Excelsior!
