Mark Hamill Still Wants To Play Vesemir On The Witcher Netflix Series

The Witcher Netflix series has finally premiered, and the consensus seems to be that it has delivered on the epic fantasy drama that it promised. Critics and audiences alike seem to agree that the series is an enjoyable and high-quality adaptation of the classic Andrzej Sapkowski novels. This month was big for fans of The Witcher, but also Star Wars fans, who saw the final film of the Skywalker saga, The Rise of Skywalker, release in theaters. Star Wars icon Mark Hamill expressed in the past a willingness to portray Vesemir in the live action Witcher Netflix series, and it seems that Luke Skywalker himself has still not let go of that desire.

Mark Hamill recently released an important tweet on his official Twitter account in response to one made by IGN about the actor’s past comments regarding The Witcher Netflix series. IGN’s tweet referred to the 2018 AMA in which Mark Hamill, while not being familiar with The Witcher, expressed interest in appearing in the Netflix series as the wise, old Vesemir. In the new tweet, Hamill confirms that he has not yet been asked to portray Vesemir, but implies he would still be quite ready to join Geralt and friends on Netflix.

Now that The Rise of Skywalker has been released and Hamill’s press commitments are nearly done, the actor would likely have time now to jump into another fantasy world. Recently, Hamill has appeared in TV series Knightfall. This series put Hamill in prosthetic makeup and medieval wardrobe, and also films in eastern Europe like The Witcher, so Hamill already knows what the experience of filming The Witcher would be like. Hopefully for season two this dream casting is made, and then, the prophecy will be fulfilled. It is Mark’s destiny.
