Let’s face it, there was a surge of social media traffic following the first reveal of Sonic the Hedgehog and the ones thereafter. From the toothy reveal the first go-around and the general confusion around the general design of the blue blur to the reportedly $5 million design change. Suffice to say, Sonic the Hedgehog fans are probably relieved, but there’s about to be another face to grace the big screen. It might even rival THE baby Yoda. Introducing baby Sonic for the very first time, Sega and Paramount Japan reveals an exclusive new trailer. Check it out:

Maybe it doesn’t quite match up to the sensation that is baby Yoda, but baby Sonic is pretty stinking cute too. Based on what we can surmise, it looks like the Sonic the Hedgehog movie will likely dive into origin story territory. There’s more to our anthropomorphic hedgehog hero than having to go fast and get all them rings. He was a wee babe once.

According to the official Japanese website, baby Sonic will make his first ever debut in the upcoming movie set to premiere in the United States on February 14th, 2020 and Japan following March 27th. The live-action film stars Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and James Marsden as Green Hills sheriff Tom Wachowski. Having left his home world to the distant Earth, Sonic enlists Tom’s help to collect golden rings and put a stop to Robotnik’s nefarious schemes!

So, does baby Sonic rival baby Yoda or does the adorable green infant and all the memes continue to steal your heart?
