In the latest Blizzard update, dataminers have discovered strings of code for Battle.net’s Discord-like social upgrade with leaked images for all to see. As DFTG has previously reported, the recent info exposed some very possible changes that gamers are particularly excited for – such as an “Appear Offline” mode and Discord-like UI. Check out the gallery below for a peek at what may be coming to all social gamers on Battle.net:

Thus far, Wowhead has discovered a variety of group and profile pictures available for use. Players can curate social hubs a.k.a. groups for personal friends across the Blizzard universes, whether it’s for the use of coordinating a time when everyone is playing, talking strategy, or simply hanging out. Looking to invite outsiders to join the posse? There are invitation links that can be sent out to prospective members. Admins can create channels which can be assigned to specific games or group types as well, akin to the layout on Discord, and assign roles to others in the community.

Classic features as seen on Steam and other social applications, for example, shows everyone on the friends list what games you’ve been playing lately. Seeking too much solace in World of Warcraft? Overachiever in Hearthstone or Heroes of the Storm? They’ll know about it. It may even tempt allies with a peek at achievements, honors, and time played unless developers consider keeping features such as Profile Visibility like the ones in the leaked images below:

Of course, all of these features are subject to change as the social aspect of Battle.net continues to undergo development. In fact, Blizzard may very well discard some of these ideas altogether, but only time will tell…and an official announcement.
