It was announced in April that an untitled multiplayer action game will be arriving soon for the Kirby franchise. So, during the Nintendo Direct stream earlier today, Kirby Battle Royale was revealed for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console, which will be arriving next year. Check out the announcement video below:

There’s online and local wireless gameplay available to enjoy the game with fellow gamers or friends up to 4 players. For those who prefer solo opportunities, there’s a story mode for that as well. Using a top-down camera for full, effective balls of fun, relive your childhood smashing other Kirbys to bits. Of course, with great power comes great responsibility. Try your hand at the different skills available depending on which you choose. Whether its Link, the Whip ability from Kirby’s Return to Dreamland, or Ice Kirby – unleash barriers or devastating offensive attacks to ward off the enemies.
