Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning Remaster Announced

kingdoms of amalur reckoning remaster

While this current gaming console generation is winding down, it seems that remakes and remasters of classic games are still going to be a frequent go-to strategy for publishers. With games like the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy and Saints Row: The Third getting remastered for current-gen devices, new audiences are able to encounter older games they may have missed. One game many have wanted to see remastered for current devices is Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, originally developed by 38 Studios. Even with the IP ownership going to THQ Nordic, EA’s approval was always going to be needed for a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning remaster to happen. Now, it seems that may have finally happened.

As reported on Prima Games, a listing for a Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning remaster had surfaced on the Xbox Store earlier today. This would seem to be an unintentional leak, as the Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning game in this listing had yet to be officially announced by THQ Nordic at the time of its listing. As such, THQ shortly thereafter confirmed the remaster’s existence on their official Twitter account.

The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning remaster has been confirmed to have “stunning visuals and refined gameplay”, as well as all of the DLC that was created for the original version of the game. Currently, the Re-Reckoning is set to be released on August 11th, and THQ Nordic has created a Discord server that will release updates on the remaster as it nears completion. This is a huge win for Amalur fans, as well as those curious to try the fantasy RPG for themselves. As Papa John himself did prophecy, there indeed will be a Reckoning.
