Latest Kingdom Hearts III Video Confirms Anti Form's Return (VIDEO)

With Kingdom Hearts III just ten days away, publisher Square Enix has begun lifting the curtain to show off even more of what fans can expect from what is considered to be Sora’s final journey in the KH universe. These past few days have revealed some interesting new details, such as the existence of a photo mode, the game’s spoiler-filled trophy list, and more. Now, a new video has revealed that Sora’s Anti Form will be playable in Kingdom Hearts III.

The news comes by a recent video posted by Square Enix that opens with fans discussing how the series has influenced them. At around the 1:19 mark within the video, Sora’s infamous Anti Form – which first debuted in Kingdom Hearts II – makes its grand entrance. Check out the trailer below:

For those that are unaware, the Anti Form is an erratic version of the Drive Form, and it represents the darkness that still dwells within Sora’s heart. While the form itself is only usable in combat in Kingdom Hearts II, foreshadowing for the Drive Form can be found during the events of the first game in the series. Unlike the other Drive Forms, the Anti Form cannot be manually activated, and is instead triggered by using Sora’s other forms too often. It is unknown how the Anti Form mechanics will differ in Kingdom Hearts III, though chances are Square Enix has made a few changes to it to bring it in line with whatever else they’ve done with the Drive Form system as a whole.

Kingdom Hearts III launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019.
