Kingdom Hearts 3 News Hinted At By Hikaru Utada’s Father

Kingdom Hearts 3 news

Kingdom Hearts 3 has proven to be yet another victim of ‘development hell’, not unlike another most recent entry of a popular Square Enix franchise. The difference between KH3 and Final Fantasy XV has been the amount of information made available to the public. On the one side, news was actually rather forthcoming towards the end of the development stages for FFXV, while there has been nary a peep from the KH3 team about what has been going on behind closed doors. As with many titles, though, we are occasionally provided with a glimpse behind the curtain, and there may be some new Kingdom Hearts 3 news to show for it.

Music producer Teruzane Utada – known for both he and his daughter Hikaru Utada’s work on the Kingdom Hearts series – just dropped a major hint on Twitter regarding Hikaru’s work on Kingdom Hearts 3. The producer was asked about whether or not he had an update regarding new Kingdom Hearts 3 music, and he was also asked if his daughter would once again be working on the theme song for the series. Hi response – seen below – is, to say the least, positively exciting.

This is very exciting news for both Kingdom Hearts fans and those that love Hikaru Utada’s work for the series. In fact, it is very difficult to picture both Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 without thinking of their theme songs by Hikaru Utada: ‘Simple and Clean’ and ‘Sanctuary’, respectively. We already know that both Hikaru and her father have been working on music for Kingdom Hearts 3, though further details have been scarce, aside from the above hint. Knowing Hikaru Utada, if she does in fact do the theme song for Kingdom Hearts 3, it will become as iconic as the theme songs from the past two entries in the series. Kingdom Hearts 3 arrives next year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
