Journey To The Savage Planet Offers A Strange New World To Explore (VIDEO)
The Game Awards 2018 promised to provide a lot of new titles among the picking of best games from this year. One of these new titles comes from a fresh developer called Typhoon Studios and will be a first person adventure by the name of Journey to the Savage Planet.
The developers released a short teaser at the Game Awards this year featuring what appears to be an incredibly vibrant alien planet. Players assume the role of an employee from the “4th best exploration company” Kindred Aerospace.
Dropped into this wild fictional planet, employees will be tasked with exploring the land, cataloging the various flora, fauna, and anything else they might encounter in an attempt to determine whether or not it’s suitable for human habitation.
Typhoon Studios was founded in 2017 by industry veterans Alex Hutchinson, Yassine Riahi and Reid Schneider. It will be interesting how well their debut title holds up with the fairly saturated genre of exploration adventure games. Co-founder and Creative Director Alex Hutchinson explains during the show that the company is set upon a particular set up and the company’s first title hopes to encapsulate all those things.
The core tenets of Typhoon are strong flavors, lots of intertwined systems, a penchant for bad jokes, and a deep and abiding love of collaborative play. Journey to the Savage Planet’ will encompass all of those things and more.”
Journey to the Savage Planet has been tentatively announced to be releasing sometime in 2019 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. While there is no release date or much of anything known about the game at this point, developers promise that information will come.
