A New Job Description Post May Have Inadvertedly Shown a Potential Evil Within Sequel

Evil Within Sequel

The Evil Within released just a year after the launch of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as a new IP to to showcase the power of the now-current generation of consoles. The game received relatively positive reviews and was praised for embodying the survival horror genre that Resident Evil had cemented for modern gaming, but had strayed away from at the time of The Evil Within’s release in favor of a more action-heavy title. Now, it appears that a new job posting may have revealed The Evil Within sequel that fans of the original have been hoping for.

Evil Within Sequel

A new Japanese job posting by Tango Gameworks, developers of the first Evil Within game, has been shared and translated on NEOGaf which points to the sequel’s existence. The posting for translation and Q&A job positions mentions the game title “Psychobreak 2”, which would be the sequel of the Japanese version of the game titled “Psycho Break”. It would make sense for Tango Gameworks to be working on a sequel for The Evil Within, as the game was decently successful with its sales, and Tango has expressed interest in making the game a series and not just a standalone title.

It would be interesting to see The Evil Within series return, now that Resident Evil VII has appeared to bring back the puzzles and survival horror mechanics that the series was known for. What do you guys think? Are you hoping this Evil Within sequel is in fact real? What would you like to see improved from the original game?
