Injustice Movie Officially Announced With A-List Voice Cast

Animated Injustice Movie

After enduring a recent leak, Warner Bros. Animation has officially announced an Injustice movie is officially on the way. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the NetherRealm Studios series of fighting games is to receive an animated adaptation inspired by the events of the first Injustice game as well as DC Comics’ Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One by writer Tom Taylor. The announcement was made alongside an image from the movie depicting an intense Superman with Batman and Wonder Woman standing in the background.

Set in an alternate reality, Injustice is set in motion by an unhinged Superman who has given up his life as a benevolent crime-stopper to enact a totalitarian regime where crime is punishable by death. The first game sees Batman and his assembly of heroes attempt to overthrow the Kryptonian’s regime, battling a formidable lineup of both heroes and villains. Tom Taylor’s Injustice comics delved even deeper into these twisted events and it’ll be interesting to see how the new film will bring everything together in an animated format.

Expected to release sometime this fall, the newly-revealed Injustice movie will feature behind-the-scenes roles from Mortal Kombat Legends producers Rick Morales and Jim Krieg, executive producer Sam Register, director Matt Peters (Justice League Dark), and writer Ernie Altbacker (Batman: Hush). The adaptation is also set to star a number of high-profile voice talent, with the likes of Justin Hartley as Superman, Anson Mount as Batman, and Laura Bailey as Lois Lane.
